Three-Phase Solid-State Relay Assemblies & Contactors
HBControls three-phase power controllers & contactors are solid-state relays pre-assembled onto either a DIN or panel-mount heat sink. Each assembly is ready to use and pre-derated for its maximum allowable load current in a 40°C ambient temperature, eliminating the need for thermal calculations, heat sink selection, and in-house assembly.
Solid-state relays and contactors, containing no moving parts, offer several advantages over traditional contactors and electromechanical relays:
-
Significantly longer life expectancy
-
Silent operation, free from acoustical noise
-
Low-current input circuit
-
Resistance to shock and vibration

Benefits of Solid-State Relays & Contactors
Long Life & Reliability:
Solid-state relay assemblies and contactors feature no moving parts, eliminating mechanical wear and tear. When operated within their specified parameters, SSCs can reliably perform multiple operations per second, maintaining functionality for millions of hours.
Silent Operation:
Solid-state relay assemblies and contactors do not generate acoustical noise when they turn on or off, making them the preferred solution for many commercial and residential applications.
Shock & Vibration Resistant:
The lack of moving parts makes solid-state relay assemblies and contactors an ideal solution for harsh industrial environments susceptible to shock and vibration.
Fast Switching:
Zero-crossing solid-state contactors respond in less than half of an AC cycle, making them ideal for resistive heating loads that require precise temperature control. Instantaneous output models can respond within 100 microseconds.
